Help after a stroke: find the right service in Switzerland
A stroke changes the life of a whole family overnight. After the hospital and rehabilitation comes the time of open questions: who provides care at home? Which physiotherapy or speech therapy practice knows neurological conditions? Where do I apply to disability insurance (IV/AI)? Who helps with money, work and legal matters? And where do I find people who have been through the same thing?
Stroke Compass answers these questions with addresses and phone numbers, for all of Switzerland. You enter your place of residence and choose a topic. We first show you the services responsible for your municipality and canton, then services near you, and finally services available across the country. Every entry says where the information comes from and whether we checked it by hand.
Eight topics, one directory
- Advice & orientation: First orientation and advice after a stroke – for example FRAGILE Suisse, the social services of hospitals and rehabilitation clinics, Pro Infirmis and cantonal advice centres.
- Inpatient services: Certified stroke units and stroke centres, neurological rehabilitation clinics, and nursing and care homes across Switzerland.
- Outpatient therapies: Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and neuropsychology near you – practices with a neurological focus first.

For relatives who need a phone number quickly after the diagnosis. For survivors, including people with aphasia – hence large buttons, little text and no search form to fill in. And for professionals in hospitals, rehabilitation, home care and social work who want to give patients a reliable address at discharge.
Free, no account, no advertising
You need no account and pay nothing. There is no advertising and there are no paid listings. Part of the information is checked by hand; the larger part comes from the directories of the professional associations for physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. You can report wrong or outdated information directly on every entry.
