Information about listed services

The other sections concern you as a visitor. This section concerns the services that are listed in the directory.

What we publish. For every service we show the name, the type of offer, the address, telephone number, e-mail address and website, a short explanation in plain language, and the date of the last check. In addition there are general details such as who pays, how to get in, whether care is inpatient or outpatient, and the target group.

Where the information comes from. From what the service has published itself: its website, its entry in the directory of its professional association, publicly accessible official sources. We do not buy address data.

Why we publish it. People after a stroke and their relatives should be able to find the services that can help them. That requires a directory which brings the offers together in one place. The information concerns professional activity, not private life.

If your practice is a sole proprietorship. Then the name of your practice is often your own name. In that case it is personal data, and we handle it with corresponding restraint: we show only what is needed to make contact. We do not publish year of birth, gender, nationality, former names, or any details about your qualification or your licence to practise.

What we do not do. We rate nobody. We do not sell data. We do not sell placement in the directory. We do not use the information for advertising and we do not write to you for advertising purposes.

Your rights. You can ask us at any time to correct your entry or to remove it entirely. The fastest way is via 'Report a correction' on your entry page — without an account and in one minute. You can also write to us: privacy@viacommuna.com. We look at every report and act on it promptly. For a removal you do not need to give a reason.

What we rely on. Under Article 30 paragraph 3 of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), there is generally no breach of personality rights where the data subject has made the data generally accessible and has not expressly prohibited processing. If you prohibit us from processing, we remove your entry.

Use without an account

Search statistics (anonymous): for every search we store the topic, life phase, municipality/canton and the number of results — without IP address, without device identifier, without any link to you. This helps us improve the directory.

Place search: if you enter a postcode or town, the input is sent to the federal mapping service (swisstopo) to obtain suggestions and coordinates.

Hosting, map and font: when you visit the website, our hosting providers process technically necessary connection data (for example the IP address in server logs). The map on the results page loads tiles from OpenStreetMap; the font is loaded from Google Fonts — Google thereby receives your IP address.

Translations: explanatory texts are machine-translated into French, Italian and English. Only the directory texts are translated, none of your data.

With an account (optional)

For an account we store your email address, first and last name and your role (affected person, relative or professional). Sign-in works via an email link without a password; the account is the same as in the Via Communa app. We also store your saved list — only you can see it. Account data is stored in our database at Supabase (EU region, Frankfurt).

Patient lists for health professionals

Accounts with the “health professional” role can put together a list of support services for each patient. Only a freely chosen name and the selected services are stored — deliberately no diagnoses, no dates of birth and no contact details. By default a list is private and visible only to the account that created it. If it is explicitly shared with the team, everyone at the same organisation can see and add to it; membership of an organisation comes from the Via Communa app. An organisation can also keep shared collections with no patient attached, for example the key services for one municipality; they contain only a title, optionally a municipality, the services and the name of the person who created them, and are always visible to the whole team. Only the person who created a list can delete it. Lists are handed over printed or as a PDF, never via a link. The health professional is responsible for the names entered; we recommend using initials rather than the full name.

Simi (in preparation)

Once the digital companion Simi is activated, your questions to Simi will be transmitted for answering to Anthropic (USA), the provider of the language model. Please therefore do not ask Simi questions containing sensitive personal data. Simi conversations are not linked to any account identifier; for quality assurance we log metadata of the answers. The wording of questions is only stored if a protection rule was triggered.

Correction reports

Correction reports can be sent without an account and are stored without sender data if you are not signed in.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use tracking cookies. Your browser locally stores the selected language and — only with an account — your sign-in session.

Disclosure

We pass personal data only to the technical providers mentioned, and only to the extent necessary for operation. There is no sale and no disclosure for advertising purposes.

Retention

Account data remains stored until you have your account deleted. Anonymous search statistics have no link to persons and are kept without time limit.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and delete your data. To do so, write to privacy@viacommuna.com. You may also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

With an account you can also do this directly: on the account page under “My data” you can view your directory data, download it as a file or print it, correct your name and request the deletion of your account.

Changes

We adapt this statement when the website changes. The version published here applies. Status: August 2026.
