Back to work after a stroke – that is possible for many, but rarely alone. The disability insurance office is the first address: it funds early intervention, retraining, work trials and job coaching, provided you register early, ideally already during rehabilitation.
Private job coaches and foundations accompany the return to the old job or to a new one. If paid work is no longer possible, sheltered workshops and day structures give the day structure and meaning – with work that matches your abilities.
The regional employment centre is responsible if you are unemployed and fit for placement. Clarify early with disability insurance and the employment centre who is responsible for you, so that no gap arises.
